alone-time

I have given myself the gift of a morning, in the house alone -- the first significant "alone-time" for more days than I can recall. It is a huge relief to the nerves for an introvert like me. And a beautiful morning it is -- warm (30's F) with lots of fluffy snow on the branches of trees, the walks, the streets. There was even a bit of fog this morning to complete the picture, and after walking my son to the bus stop, it was a rare treat to stay outside and shovel snow! I do have some very important work to finish today, part of my job; but for a while I will simply look at pretty things, and be inspired, and fend off any lingering guilt by running the laundry.

At last I have a Studio Cat!
Junebug Puddinfoot, better known as "the Bug," my little shadow. When I am sewing, or on the laptop, she can be found in her spot by the window. Where she will nap in the sun, positioned advantageously above the heating vent, and occasionally trill at me to come scratch her lazy belly. A peaceful picture. Which is funny, because she is THE busiest, most curious cat I've ever seen, and will get into absolutely anything, given the opportunity. She watches me, I watch her.
