A summer in review

Now, with several other projects still on the table, I've decided to make that Dia de los Muertos quilt I've saved fabric for (for years). More pics of FINISHED work soon!

I started a piece made all of hand-dyed fabrics: rust dyes, silk transfer dyes, plant-dyes...

And got distracted. This is Hmong work, and the brilliant colors are a joy! Bought this at the MN State Fair, also in August.

August: And I went to Duluth MN for a conference, spending time on the waterfront (for the first time, I admit.)

Civil engineering: A secret passion.

And water, and waves...

...and a small silk piece modified with my new embellisher, inspired by the lakes.

A busy summer

August: We stayed a week at Lake Mille Lacs, on Sunset Bay, as we have done for several years.

It's a lovely resort, not too big, not too small.

And the surroundings are very quiet. Just waves, and birds.

I had lots of time to sit and sew !

Progress images: "Winter Count"

"Winter Count" is just about completed. Better images soon!

And started working on a small scarf as well, using a wooden tjap-type stamp bought at a local thrift store.
