journal update

It's hard to predict where these images will land when I publish the post. This is (left to right in the book) "I was hungry/Our daily bread." Photo laser transfer, carbon paper, thread, fabric, waxed Tortas wrapper, other collage elements. The central image of "Our daily bread" is a repeat of the child seen in "Keep Looking" and is superimposed over a hole in the Tortas wrapper, which in turn is layered over a photo negative of the Sacred Heart of Jesus image (seen on the left.) The photo image is a starving seven-week-old infant in Somalia. It is a hard image to look at, and we share in both the infant’s pain and the bystanders' complicity.
